Edwin H. Anderson Jr.

Edwin H. Anderson Jr., a resident of Prescott, Ariz., for 18 years, died April 2, 2011, from a brain injury while in a Northern California hospital for pneumonia. Ed was born May 15, 1934, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Edwin and Caroline Anderson. He graduated from San Leandro High in 1950 and UCLA in the mid 1960s. He served in peace time Korean War and was stationed in Germany from 1954-1956. He was proud of his country and his time in the service.

He was a man who loved life and lived it to the fullest every day. He enjoyed boating, golf, gardening and travel. Ed worked in the oil industry for over 50 years, starting with McMillian Oil in the late 1950s and most recently with SC Fuels for over 20 years. He was active with the industries associations and served on the board of APMA and POC.

Ed is survived by Korina, his wife of 21 years; daughter Michelle and son-in-law Brent Rudaitis; and five grandchildren, Jason (Leah), Cammi, Ashley (JR), Ryan and 16-year-old Taylor. He is also survived by a great-granddaughter whom he had yet to meet, Averi; and Ed's nephew and family Susan and Bill Anderson and sons Eric and Kris (Nicole). Ed is also survived by Korina's sister and family, Alena and Paul Schmidt; nephews Matthew and Cameron; and niece Katrina; and mother-in-law Jo Evans.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2011, at the American Lutheran Church on Scott Drive in Prescott.

Ed dearly loved Prescott and all that it stood for. He especially loved the Christmas traditions that took place here each year.

This amazing man was taken from us far too early and the loss that we all feel will be in our hearts forever.
