Circus coming to Paulden April 29
PACO selling advance tickets
The Paulden Area Community Organization (PACO) is sponsoring the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus, two shows on April 29 at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in Paulden.
The shows will take place under the "Big Top" tent located at the northwest corner of Highway 89 and Big Chino Road in Paulden.
"I would like to see this become an annual event for entire families to enjoy together for years to come," PACO President Creagan McConnell said. "Response to the circus has been extremely positive, a community event such as this can bring out friends and neighbors and also give people an opportunity to find our more about the services that PACO provides to the residents of Paulden."
The Culpepper & Merriweather Circus is more than entertainment, as organizers and performers will also provide local students with learning possibilities through a reading program, special presentations at the "tent raising" and their circus clown will be visiting local schools giving shows and teaching children about the history of the circus. Tickets will not be available at the school shows.
Advanced tickets for the circus are on sale now, $6 for children ages 2-12 and seniors 65 and older; $12 for teens and adults. Prices will be slightly higher at the gate on performance day.
Many local businesses have responded to an advanced ticket "gifting" program and McConnell say there will be at least 200 happy children in the stands.
