Prescott Valley Rangers group meets for 1st time

PRESCOTT VALLEY - The Prescott Valley Detachment of the Verde Valley Company of the Arizona Rangers met for the first time recently at the StoneRidge recreation center.

The need for the detachment resulted from a growing number of Arizona Rangers who live and work in the Prescott Valley area, according to Sgt. Craig Libby of the Verde Valley Company. Its other purpose is to meet the demands for additional duty assignments.

Lt. David Kyburz serves as the detachment's commander.

The Arizona Rangers are an all-volunteer support group and civilian auxiliary who work at the request and under the supervision of law enforcement. They also provide youth support and community service, and their mounted units serve in special functions.
