Obituary: Linda Wychelewski
While surrounded by her daughters, Linda Wychelewski of Prescott Valley, Ariz., went to be with her Lord on Sept. 16, 2010, at Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix, Ariz. She was born in Iona, S.D., on May 29, 1927.
During World War II, she worked in the Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, Wash., where she met a handsome Marine, her future husband. She married Joseph Wychelewski after World War II ended and they moved to Chicago, Ill. They lived there until Joseph retired and moved to Prescott Valley in 1986.
Linda was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an active member of St. Germaine Catholic Church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister and member of the Ladies' Guild and the Perpetual Adoration Chapel. She and Joseph were world travelers, having visited all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, Australia and Europe. She also loved to visit her grandchildren, attend to her beautiful roses, read and go to movies.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Joseph Wychelewski; her parents, Coy and Bessie Myers; her sister Lenice George; and bother Dr. Ira Myers. Survivors include daughters, Judy Swiger of Mahomet, Ill., Barbara Maxwell of Scottsdale, Ariz., Ann Marie (Bill) Sutter of Shingletown, Calif.; grandchildren, Matthew Swiger and Sabrina Sutter; two sisters Joyce George of Chewelah, Wash., and Sharlee Wilson of Potlatch, Idaho; Godchildren, Diane Kolichy and Kristin Brandon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Linda's life will be Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010, at St. Germaine Catholic Church, 7997 E Dana Drive, Prescott Valley. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. and the saying of the Rosary at 9:15 a.m. Mass will be at 10 a.m. A luncheon by the St. Germaine Ladies Guild will follow. After the luncheon, burial will take place at Heritage Memorial Park in Dewey.
