Obituary: Ormall Lester Bender Jr.
Ormall Lester Bender Jr. went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on Sept. 17, 2010. Les was born Oct. 7, 1934, to Ormall Lester Bender Sr. and Laura McCormick Bender in Phoenix, Ariz.
He is survived by his loving wife, Martha Bender; his son Ormall Lester Bender, III, "Ben"; and his daughter Nancy Bender Jordan and her husband, Scott Jordan and their children, Macy and Travis. He also is survived by his sister Leatrice Bender Hofstra, her husband Peter Hofstra and their family; brother Jake Bender, his wife Karlene and son Van; and nephew James L. McGee and his family.
He was raised on his family ranch between Gila Bend and Casa Grande then moved to Skull Valley where he graduated from Prescott High School in 1953. After graduation, he joined the Navy and served our country on the first missile firing submarine. He was honorably discharged in June 1961.
He rodeod and managed a ranch in Oregon where he met the love of his life, Marty. Shortly after they moved back to Arizona where he became a Real Estate Broker and raised his family. His interest were real estate, ranching and mining. Recently he managed the Weaver Mining District in Congress, Ariz., where he made many friends. We will always remember his sense of humor and he will be truly missed.
A sunset graveside service will be at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010, at Congress Cemetery, Congress, Ariz.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Heritage Memory Mortuary in Prescott, Ariz.
