The Prescott Chamber of Commerce and Prescott Downtown Partnership are planning the second installment of the newest Prescott Christmas tradition - Christmas in September. Help light up the courthouse for Christmas, have a wonderful evening out on the town, and possibly go home with $5,000.
Just 200 tickets will be sold at $100 each for the event, which will be at the Prescott Resort and Conference Center at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, until the last ticket is drawn. Ticket holders will enjoy a sumptuous sit-down plated dinner while being entertained by a live jazz band. Before and after dinner they will have the opportunity to bid on Arizona travel packages in a Silent Auction. Throughout the evening, the "reverse drawing" for $5,000 cash will be ongoing, with the action visible from all parts of the room via six video screens. Ticket numbers will be drawn and announced. Once a ticket is picked, it is out of the "reverse raffle"- but could win a "consolation" prize. Finally, the last ticket drawn wins one lucky person $5,000. Last year the final five ticket holders requested a short break in the drawing then agreed to split the prize, so each walked away with a cool grand.
All proceeds from "Christmas in September" will benefit the Courthouse lighting. To purchase a ticket, contact Anne Confer at the Chamber, 445-2000 x114. You don't have to be present to win.
