Richard Max Siebert

Richard Max Siebert passed away peacefully at his home in Prescott, Ariz., on Sept. 30, 2010, with his loving wife Janine of 11 years and other family members at his side. He was born Dec. 17, 1931, in Fredericksburg, Gillespie County, Texas, the proud son of Max R. and Catherine (Jordan) Siebert. Richard was 78 years old.

Richard was baptized on Jan. 3, 1932, at St. Mary's Church in Fredericksburg. On May 23, 1949, Richard graduated from Brackenridge High School in San Antonio, Texas. Soon after his graduation, he joined the United States Navy in 1951 as a mechanic and received many commendations including the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and Navy Occupation Expert. He served his country proudly and was honorably discharged in 1955.

After his military career, Richard married Jackie and raised his children, then became a master mechanic and spent three years (1974-1977) on the Alaskan Pipeline; he was most proud of that accomplishment. He was recognized by the Local 12 International Union of Operating Engineers for over 45 years of devoted service.

Camping and family reunions were a favorite of Richard's at the Hole in the Ground campground in Northern California, along with RV trips to Parker, Ariz., alongside the Colorado River and vacationing in Cabo San Lucas every October. One of his most enjoyable trips was with Janine, his son Rick and his family to Sequoia National Forrest. In his later years, Richard loved to watch T.V., read the morning paper and watch his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys, with Janine and their two four-legged companions, Susie and Cindy.

He is preceded in death by his late wife Jacquelyn E. Siebert. He is survived by his loving wife Janine Siebert of Prescott, Ariz.; eight children; one stepson; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many friends who loved and adored him.
