PV woman arrested after allegedly stabbing and trying to run over people
Prescott Valley police arrested a woman this past Saturday on charges including aggravated assault after she allegedly tried to stab her boyfriend's new girlfriend with a knife and tried to run over several people.
An officer booked Josie Bennett, 30, of Prescott Valley, into the Yavapai County jail in Camp Verde on charges of five counts of aggravated assault, four counts of endangerment, and four counts of felony criminal damage.
Police answered a call about an assault in the 3300 block of Tower and learned there had been a fight with multiple assaults, said Sgt. Brandon Bonney, spokesman for the Prescott Valley Police Department.
Bennett was upset over her boyfriend being in a new relationship with another woman and allegedly made threats to cut the new girlfriend with a knife and kill her, Bonney said. Bennett allegedly consumed alcohol, drove to the home, confronted the woman with a knife, tried to stab her, missed, and caused a superficial injury, Bonney said.
Bystanders took the knife away from Bennett, who then got into her vehicle and allegedly tried to run over several people, Bonney said.
Bennett then allegedly drove into a home, struck three parked vehicles, a chain link fence and a brick wall before her vehicle became disabled, Bonney said.
