Yavapai Silent Witness tips net 17 arrests; 6 callers rewarded

The Yavapai Silent Witness board of directors gave cash rewards Tuesday totaling $1,700 to six callers whose information led to 17 arrests on 81 felony charges.

The callers reported crimes involving multiple drug violations, fraud schemes, ID theft, and forgery, said Steve Skurja, program coordinator for Yavapai Silent Witness.

Arrests were made by the Prescott police department, PANT (Partners Against Narcotics Trafficking) and the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office in Camp Verde, Cottonwood, Chino Valley, Prescott, Oregon and Prescott Valley, Skurja said.

Officers also seized $3,500 worth of illegal drugs and $50 in cash, Skurja said.
