Mary Beatrice Manning (Bogart)

February 10, 1913 - October 18, 2010

Mary Beatrice was born Feb. 10, 1913, in Reed, Okla., to Thomas Jefferson Bogart and Mary M. Bogart (Portman). She was raised on a farm with her brother W. Lee and sister Rosa.

Bea married Rolly Cecil Manning on Oct. 25, 1943. Cecil became a Methodist minister and he and Bea would serve at several churches in Arizona and California before retiring in Rowland Heights, Calif. Bea was a devoted wife to Cecil for 44 years until his passing in 1987.

Bea always had a heart for children and found much joy in raising her nieces. She enjoyed helping with special projects at her church, teaching Sunday School, arts and crafts to the blind, quilting, making jeweled Christmas trees, gardening, singing praises and, most of all, spending time with her family, friends and pets. One of her favorites was fishing with Cecil and their grandchildren. Bea passed peacefully at her home away from home, Prescott Samaritan Village, surrounded by her family and friends.

Bea was preceded in death by her father, mother, brother, sister and beloved husband Rolly "Cecil" Manning. She is survived by her nieces, and she raised several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bea was a wonderful wife and mother to Cecil's nieces, a loving grandmother and great-grandmother, a dear friend and true inspiration to many and loved by all. She will be greatly missed.

The Celebration of Bea's Life service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010, at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home.
