Mureithi, a native of Kenya, is the artist in residence at Drury University in Springfield, Mo. During the course of three years from 2007-2010, he produced, filmed and edited "ICYIZEERE: hope,", documentary about a gathering of 10 survivors and 10 perpetrators of the 1994 Rwandan genocide. In Africa, his film has been screened in Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda, Burundi and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
"ICYIZEERE: hope" has been called a film about the power of, and the need for, forgiveness, and has strengthened the filmmaker's belief that just as the media can and has been used to divide and destroy, so can it be used to unite and to heal, according to Mureithi.
