Billy Edward Wells, 74, of Prescott Valley, Ariz., passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010.
He was born April 12, 1936, in Great Falls, Mont., to William and Helen Wells.
Billy is a 1954 graduate of Glendale High School, Glendale, Ariz., where he played baseball and football. He was also the first male cheerleader at Glendale High School.
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He worked for the Mountain State Telephone & Telegraph Company and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed horses, reading Western novels and traveling.
Billy is preceded in death by his parents, brother Budd Wells and son Bill Turnbow Wells.
He is survived by his wife Mina Jane Wells; daughter Vici Lee Wells; son John Edward Wells; granddaughter Holly Leigh (Bryan) Eaton; brothers Rex (Diane) Wells, Jerry Wells and Jimmy (Judy) Wells; sisters Jackie Goodling and Jessie Ogan; and great-grandchildren Bryce Allan Eaton and Hayden Cameron Eaton.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010, at Sunrise Funeral Home, 8167 E. Highway 69, Prescott Valley, Ariz.
