Nature camp for kids is Oct. 11-17

Kids ages 6 through 12 can sign up now to attend the Highlands Center for Natural History's "Friends Understanding Nature" (F.U.N.) fall break camp program. The program is from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 11-17.

Every fall, school-aged kids get to spend each day for a week outdoors at the Highlands Center to make their own discoveries of the fascinating and fun world of nature. The schedule for the week includes hands-on, outdoor nature discoveries, and developing their awareness of the natural world through exploration, art, journaling, animal role-play, nature crafts, stories, and songs as they explore our unique forest and along the Lynx creek here in the Central Arizona Highlands.

The national movements More Kids in the Woods and Leave No Child Inside encourage programming that brings kids outside to experience and learn about nature. This opportunity exists in Yavapai County at the Highlands Center for Natural History. Enroll your children today and have them experience the wonders of nature right here in the Prescott National Forest.

Pre-registration and an enrollment fee are required. To register and for more information, visit or call 776-9550.
