Police arrest 3 for extreme DUI during holiday task force
Prescott police arrested three people for extreme DUI Saturday as part of the Tri-City DUI Task Force.
This saturation patrol was part of a statewide campaign between Thanksgiving and New Year's to deter, detect, and apprehend impaired drivers, said Sgt. Tim Fletcher, traffic section supervisor for the Prescott Police Department.
Prescott police officers found three impaired drivers out of the 56 traffic stops they made, Fletcher said. All three drivers had a blood alcohol content level greater than 0.15 percent, and one also faces charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Officers also issued 58 other citations and warnings, Fletcher said.
Prescott police remind drivers to make good choices year round, by making arrangements ahead of time to designate a driver or to take a cab home.
