Yavapai County School Superintendent Tim Carter appointed Penny Hubble to the Chino Valley Unified School District Governing Board to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Paul Mitchell.
Hubble's appointment is for Nov. 16 through Dec. 31. She was elected to a four-year term on the CVUSD governing board during the Nov. 2 General Election. She will begin serving Jan. 1.
Mitchell resigned from the CVUSD Governing Board June 29.
Despite several options, including calling a special election and having Carter appoint someone for the remainder of Mitchell's term, the Chino Valley Unified governing board chose to wait until the November election to fill the vacant seat.
