Organizations serving young people invited to submit information to new Big Kids' Book

The Yavapai County Community Foundation is inviting all organizations that provide services to children, youths and their families in Yavapai County to be included in its 20th edition of The Big Kids' Book.

This free resource guide is a directory of organizations serving local young people and their families. A new format will combine YCCF's The Big Kids' Book with First Things First's Little Kids' Book, a similar directory for services for children under age 5.

YCCF will produce and distribute 20,000 books to locations across the county, including communities throughout the West Yavapai and Verde Valley regions. This marks the highest number of books ever distributed, and the expanded outreach is made possible, thanks to support from First Things First Yavapai Regional Partnership Council, the Prescott Kiwanis Club, Credit Union West and the Yavapai County Community Foundation.

YCCF and First Things First are also seeking photographs of local children of all ages to be featured in The Big Kids' Book. Organizations serving Yavapai County children are strongly encouraged to submit photos, and all community members are welcome to participate. Photos must be accompanied by a signed release form and a brief photo caption.

To update or add your organization's information for inclusion in the 2011 edition of The Big Kids' Book, or to submit a photo or request a release form, please contact Cindy Marshall-Pemberton, First Things First outreach coordinator, at 928-776-0062, or cpemberton@azftf.gov. Please submit your information and photos no later than Friday, Dec. 3.
