Brief: Highlands Center plans arts & crafts sale

This year the Highlands Center for Natural History's fourth annual Holiday Open House, Artisans & Crafters Sale theme is "Warmth from the Heart" on Nov. 20, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the center's James Learning Center at 1375 S. Walker Road in Prescott.

Local artisans will be selling their creations including metal sculptures, handcrafted rugs, silk scarves, jewelry, wood sculptures and wood crafts, and other unique nature related items. The Benson Family Nature Store has added many new and popular items to their inventory for this event. A part of the proceeds from this sale will benefit the Highlands Center's children's outdoor educational programs. Bring in canned goods to be eligible to enter into the drawing for a 25% discount on your total one-time shopping spree at the Nature store. All donated items will go to Open Door charity.

One of Santa's elves will make an appearance during the day for kids of all ages to get their photo taken and hand in their wish list to Santa.  Kids will have the opportunity to shop a special area for purchases ($10 and under) for their family and friends. Enjoy goodies and hot chocolate, and free gift wrapping.

For more information, call the Center at 776-9550 or visit www.highlandscenter.org.
