Letter: Group honored vets with Warrior Medals
The Warrior Medal Society and the Military Order of the Purple Heart Major John R. Tapia Ph.D., Chapter 608, would like to thank all of the veterans groups that financially supported the purchase of the Warrior Medal of Valor medallions that were presented at the Intertribal Prescott Pow-Wow Social at Watson Lake on Sept. 11.
We honored 263 veterans that day, and since May 2007 we have decorated 827 veterans in our tri-city area with this prestigious medallion. On behalf of all the recipients, we would like to thank Wally Presmyk, Arizona Department of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, American Legion Post 6, Marine Corps League Copper State 906, Marine Corps League Green Valley, American Legion Riders Post 40, Disable American Veterans Chapter 16, Korean War Veterans Edward Reeves Chapter 311, American Legion Post 78, Veterans of Foreign Wars Buckey O'Neill Post 541, American Legion Auxiliary Post 25, Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 95, Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 608, Ed Snortland, Dr. John R. Tapia, and Bud Cooper.
We also are very thankful for all of the presenters and assistants: JROTC Prescott High School, The Young Marines, and Marine Corps Devil Pups.
