PRESCOTT - The 2010 Acker holiday card is the 16th annual fundraising effort by the Friends of Acker group, which regularly donates to improvement efforts at the city's Acker Park on South Virginia Street.

This year's proceeds will go toward enhanced signage to raise awareness and visibility of the park, according to a press release from the Friends group.

Customers can choose from printed-message or blank sets of 10 cards. The message inside reads, "Greetings of the Season and Best Wishes for the New Year from Prescott, Arizona."

The cards are available for $7 per pack. They will be available at a number of local locations, including Sharlot Hall Museum Store, New Frontiers Natural Foods, Mortimer's Nursery, Watter's Garden Center, Prescott Chamber of Commerce, Granite Mountain Outfitters, The Worm book store, the Adult Center of Prescott on Rosser Street, and Manzanita Outdoors. A new location this year is Ian Russell Gallery of Fine Arts in the Firehouse Plaza on West Goodwin Street.

The Friends of Acker continue to partner with Prescott Creeks Preservation Association, with a portion of the card proceeds going to creek research and enhancement projects.
