PRESCOTT - Two people died Saturday in an early morning collision on Highway 69.
At about 2 a.m. a northbound 2005 Kia, driven by an 84-year-old man, crossed the road and struck a 2005 Ford sedan heading south, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety. Doctors pronounced him dead at a local hospital.
A woman riding in the Kia died at the scene, said police, who could not immediately identify the woman.
The driver of the Ford was treated and released at a local hospital and a passenger in the Ford was admitted to a Phoenix hospital, police said.
Neither the driver nor the passenger who lost their lives in the crash wore seatbelts, but the survivors in the Ford had their seatbelts fastened, police said.
Police did not release the names of those involved in the accident.
