Viewpoint: The real culprit in the illegal immigration fiasco
If our federal government had done its Constitutional duty during the last 40-50 years, we would not be facing the dilemma currently manifesting itself. Whether in a Democrat or a Republican administration, little or nothing has really been done by Washington to police and control illegal immigration.
So why is our current president sitting back on his heels in the situation? Why should he allow the opinion of the nation's public, most of which has not suffered the direct effects of illegal immigration, to impede the upholding of our national immigration laws? Is it part of his agenda to allow this problem to be resolved by the nation's public opinion rather than to do what he swore to do when he accepted the presidency : Uphold our Constitution and national laws.?
I would strongly suggest that all of the individuals who have suffered any physical harm or financial loss at the hands of any illegal immigrants bring charges of dereliction of duty against the federal government. Further I would urge all of the governors of the states contiguous to the Mexican border to bring suit against the federal government for its failure to uphold our national immigration laws.
