Prescott Creeks, a local nonprofit working on water quality and riparian habitat, and the Granite Creek Watershed Improvement Council are looking for volunteers to join the creek crew and participate in a field survey of local creeks on Saturday, March 27. Volunteers will walk along the creeks assessing the condition of riparian (streamside) vegetation, inflows (pipes, ditches and culverts) and potential pollution sources. They will receive training on field protocols, data sheets and the use of GPS units. The survey will be physically demanding, so volunteers must be in good physical condition and able to walk several miles over rough terrain.
