St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church will conduct an ongoing series called "Catholics Returning Home" at 10 a.m. Saturdays beginning March 20 and 27 at 2062 N. Highway 89, Chino Valley, in the St. Francis Room. These sessions are for non-practicing Catholics who are seeking answers to questions about returning to church. The Prescott Aglow Lighthouse will be having its March meeting at the Hassayampa Inn, 123 E. Gurley, on March 20. Prescott Valley United Methodist Church is having a St. Patrick's Day corned beef dinner at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 20. Entertainment will follow dinner. Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church continues its mid-week Lenten services each Wednesday through March 24. Lenten services at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church are twice each Wednesday evening at 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. in the Worship Center. Registration is open for the American Evangelical Lutheran Church Women's Annual Breakaway, "Choosing Joy," taking place March 26 and 27 at the Chapel Rock Retreat Center, 1131 Country Club Drive, Prescott. The guest speaker will be Ruth E. Blocker, who has been involved in the women's ministry at AELC for five years. Willow Hills Southern Baptist Church presents "The Risen Christ," an Easter musical performed by the choir with orchestra, directed by Dan Chandler, worship leader. Women of Wisdom, an interdenominational Christian fellowship of Bible teaching and studies for women of all ages and backgrounds, is taking registration for its spring 2010 session. The new sessions are from 8:15 to 11:15 a.m. and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays, April 7-May 26 at American Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1085 Scott Drive, Prescott. Scholarships for class material are available, and free childcare is provided. The program for WOW each Wednesday morning includes coffee time, praise and worship music, prayer, a first-hour Bible teaching and participants' choice of a small-group Bible study or a fun "potpourri" class. Bethel Baptist Church begins a new Bible study entitled "Faith Lessons." Filmed on location in Israel, "Faith Lessons" is a video series that brings God's word to life, telling Bible stories in the actual settings where they took place. Producing warm hats and scarves for the homeless is a year-round project for the knitting and crocheting group at Prescott United Methodist Church. The group meets at 10:30 a.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays each month in the Upper Room of the church at 505 W. Gurley St. Everyone is welcome, and group members are willing to coach beginners. Donations of yarn are always welcome.

Younger adults at Prescott United Methodist Church have formed a weekly focus group that will discuss how the Scriptures relate to issues today. They meet at 6 p.m. Mondays in the Bartholomew Room of the church, 505 W. Gurley St. The group's acronym, IDEAS, stands for "individuals discovering everything and sharing."

The Chino Valley and Paulden Area Ministerial Association works in conjunction with St. Vincent De Paul Society and the Salvation Army to help people in need. Volunteers staff the organization, and they welcome any help from new volunteers. The association helps people with various critical housing and living conditions. First Baptist Church of Prescott continues the ministries that help people in the community. The Soup Kitchen is open at 5 p.m. every Monday for those needing a meal. The Master's Clothes Closet, 114 Union St., Prescott, is open from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays for those needing clothing. The Women's and Men's Recovery meetings are 7 p.m. Mondays. Mountain Valley Church of God Christ-Centered 12-Step drug and alcohol recovery program and cancer support group entitled "Redeeming Grace" meets Saturday evenings with a short church service and sermon, including music. Pastors Tom and Nova Forrest will lead the service. Immediately following the service, attendees will break into separate male and female groups for the 12-step program and the cancer support program. The Firehouse, an after-school program and a ministry of "En Fuego," the youth group at Prescott Free Methodist Church, is open from 3:15 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays. The Firehouse gives students a place to go after school to work on homework or class projects and to have fun with friends. There are monitored computers for homework and research, games and quiet rooms for studying. There will always be a minimum of two or three adults on the premises.
