News Briefs: Guest vocalists and the Phoenix Symphony Chorus will be featured

Guest vocalists and the Phoenix Symphony Chorus will be featured during the 3 p.m., March 21 performance of the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra in the Performance Hall of Yavapai College.

The orchestra, directed by Michael Christie, will first perform Alexander von Zemlinsky's "Fruhlingsbegrabnis" (Burial of Spring) cantata.  The piece is typical of the Austrian composer-conductor's music - highly expressionistic and emotional.

Singing the vocal music will be soprano Janice Chandler Eteme and bass-baritone Jason Grant and members of the 100-person Phoenix Symphony Chorus.

Joining Eteme and Grant for vocal solos are tenor Bryan Griffin and mezzo-soprano Susan Platts.  Also performing for each Mozart piece will be the Phoenix Symphony Chorus.

Persons wanting information about tickets should contact the YSA office at 928-776-4255.
