A shared love for cats and fairies between author Pat Frayne and her granddaughter, Caitlin, inspired Frayne to write her new book, "Tales of Topaz the Conjure Cat," a two-part tale of a feline endowed with special powers. In Part I, "Topaz and the Evil Wizard," fairy and elf children have been disappearing in the Kingdom of Knownotten, and Topaz must use his special abilities to solve the mystery and protect the future of the usually peaceful land and its inhabitants from harm. Part II, "Topaz and the Plum-Gista Stone," follows Topaz and his companions as they take Otis, a great-horned owl, to the Gnome fortress to find out why he has gone blind and search for a cure for him. Frayne, who is a registered nurse, and Caitlin enjoy making up stories for each other. Her book is available through www.authorhouse.com.
