Gamer's Grid: 3D games on the way soon?
There are a lot of exciting things to mention this week in light of E3 (Video Gaming Expo held once a year) with new retail gaming bundles. First, at Microsoft's demonstration, they unveiled the slim Xbox 360 Elite. Still holding the price tag of $299, they have made minor improvements to it mostly benefiting the outside of the box. The slimmer shell has vents for better airflow, quiet and efficient fans, five usb ports, and a port for the revealed Kindle (a.k.a. Natal). The Kindle is Microsoft's technology to turn you, the gamer, into a full motion controller. It will be compatible with the new slim model and pre existing 360's. The Slim consoles have already been sent out and hope to see them early next week.
Sony has a few new bundles out for the PSP Slim and Ps3. The Ps3 bundle is the 250gb slim model combined with Uncharted 2 (Rated M) for $349.99. They have added the game to provide something to play right out of the box at no extra cost. The new Psp slim bundle (3000 Series not the PspGo) is a limited edition in light of the latest Metal Gear Solid PSP title "Peace Walker"; it is an entertainment bundle including a "Spirited Green" PSP, copy of MGS: Peace Walker, 2GB Memory Stick, a movie download voucher, and in-game exclusives from stand alone copies including: Exclusive FOX Unit Camouflage uniform, and a "Stealth Gun Feature."
Nintendo has come to E3 with some exciting news and a new Nintendo DS console ... only this time they promise it will produce 3-D effects without the need for passive or active 3D glasses! Not a lot of confirmed information has been cast in stone about this new mysterious step up in portable gaming as it raises a lot of questions. They have also announced new Donkey Kong, Golden Sun, Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Kirby and more! It looks like Nintendo has a lot of gamers excited for something!
For more information I would browse E3's website for what has been showcased to see more information as it comes in.
