"Summer of Fun" membership is offered to all current PUSD 6th-, 7th- and 8th-graders. This is a limited, free membership good this summer Mondays through Fridays from noon to 5 p.m. The membership includes access to the pool, the gymnasium and the park, at no cost to the students, courtesy of Pepsi. Prescott middle-school students must have their parents fill out and sign the membership form and then show their middle-school ID card upon application. Special activities are also planned for the "Summer of Fun."
Red, White and Blue Dodgeball is at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 26. Games will be double-elimination, tournament-style, to determine winners in each age category. Wear your red, white and blue and get ready to have some good old American fun!
Youth Fitness Camp is from 1:30 to 3 p.m. June 14-24 and July 10-26. The fitness camps are for kids ages 9-13. Participants will have fun while improving motor skill and functional fitness skills. Kids will also learn about well-balanced meals and how to make better food choices to stay healthy.
Summer Sports Performance Camp for boys and girls ages 12-15 will be June 28-July 8. The camp will include speed work, quickness drills, agility drills, games and much more. Participants will have fun while getting into shape. They will also learn about sports nutrition and how to make better food choices.
The YMCA Day Camps offer camps for all school-age children through the 8th grade. Activities include swimming, crafts and games. All YMCA camps are DES-approved and state-licensed.
The boys basketball camp is July 12-16 and the girls basketball camp is July 19-23. Grades 4-6 meet from 8 to 10 a.m. and grades 7-9 meet from 10 a.m. to noon. Dribbling, shooting and passing are all part of the fun.
The YMCA offers CPR instruction to the public at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 30. This is an ASHI certification and is valid for two years. Sign up now.
