PHOENIX - Members of the State Bar of Arizona elected eight attorneys to serve as representatives on the organization's board of governors. Thirty people serve on the board of governors, including four members who are not lawyers. Lawyer Christopher Jensen was elected to represent Yavapai County and members selected Meredith Peabody of Prescott, a self-employed consultant, to fill a public member opening.
The State Bar, a nonprofit organization that operates under the Arizona Supreme Court, regulates about 15,000 active attorneys statewide and provides education and development programs for the legal profession and the public.
