Yavapai County's Prevention of Elder Abuse Coalition (PEAC) is sponsoring a Senior Safety Day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, at the Rowle P. Simmons Adult Center, 1280 E. Rosser St. in Prescott.
The day will feature presentations on fall prevention, safety issues and Alzheimer's disease, home safety and security, avoiding financial exploitation, refusing to be a victim, and calling 911. Approximately 30 organizations will be on hand to provide safety information and answer questions.
Participants will be able to have their VIN etched on their cars, sign up for the "Watch Your Car" program, dump any unused drugs, shred personal documents, have their blood pressure checked, and have a pharmacist review their list of prescriptions to check for harmful interactions.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information about PEAC and the services available, visit www.peacaz.org, write to firstname.lastname@example.org or call 776-7871 or 877-521-3500.
