Woman arrested on burglary charges
Prescott police arrested a woman this past Wednesday on charges including burglary after she allegedly broke into a man's bedroom in the 800 block of Dameron and stole more than $1,000 in watches, rings and a video camera.
Officers booked Stephanie Anne Drury, 33, of Prescott into the Yavapai County Jail in Camp Verde on charges of burglary, theft, three counts of theft of a credit card, possession of drug paraphernalia and a misdemeanor warrant out of Prescott city court.
On July 14, a man told officers that Drury took some watches and rings from his home earlier that evening, and he had driven around the neighborhood trying to find her and get his property back, according to the police report.
Later that evening, an officer answered a call about a woman threatening a man with a knife outside the Fry's on Fair Street and found Drury and the man, according to the police report.
The man said he met a friend at The Island Store who told the man that Drury had shown off a videocamera that looked like his.
The man followed Drury as she headed towards Fry's where he told officers Drury lunged at him with a knife.
Drury told the officer she had taken the man's property and that it was in her bags, so the officer placed her under arrest.
When officers searched Drury's bags, they found the man's property, three of the man's credit cards, a knife, and a small glass vial that smelled of marijuana.
Drury told the officer that she did some work for the man, and he would not even buy her dinner, so she took his stuff, according to the police report.
