Donald "Don" Johnston, 75, passed away peacefully in Prescott, Ariz., July 9, 2010, at the Marley House Hospice Center from complications of lung cancer. Don was born May 9, 1935, in Akron, Ohio, where he met his wife Diane of 54 years.
He was involved in missionary work for several years and then sales. Don and Diane moved to Phoenix in 1975 where they raised their sons and retired to Prescott in 1994 where they have enjoyed the cool pines. Don liked to play the organ, refinish furniture, garden, spend time with family and friends, and never turned down an opportunity to talk to a stranger.
He is survived by his wife Diane; sons Bryant, 46, Bradley, 41, and their spouses; two grandchildren; and couch buddy Sammy (Chihuahua).
A bedside service took place on the night of his passing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Compass Bank - Donald Johnston Memorial Fund.
