Vicky (Danica Jeffries) looks disgusted while her would-be fiancé, Malachy (Jason Strunk) argues with her father, Mick (Jim Pyduck), about their dogs' characteristics during rehearsal for the Lonesome Valley Playhouse production of "The Marriage Proposal." Adelaide couldn't wait for her cue and joined the human cast. Director Pyduck adapted Anton Chekhov's play to an Irish setting and added a short concert of Irish music before the play with a ensemble that includes Luke Haddad and Cassie Leach on violin, Daniel Terry on piano, and Jerod MacDonald-Evoy on guitar.

Curtain is at 7 p.m. July 16 and 17 in the Franklin Phonetic School auditorium, 6116 E. Highway 69, Prescott Valley.
