Obituary: Carlos "Charlie" Alascano

Carlos "Charlie" Alascano, 66, passed away Jan. 22, 2010, in Prescott, Ariz. He was born March 6, 1943, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Amelia Gonzales.

Charlie, as he was known to his family and friends, worked as a tool and dye maker in the aerospace industry before his retirement.

He loved to ride his horses and helped the Horses for H.E.A.R.T. program for disabled children, and also belonged to the Prescott Saddle Club. He loved nature and the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hiking. He also loved to play tennis, especially with his family.

His family will especially remember his love of his family and they will remember him as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle.

Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Clemene; his children Raquel (Herve) Bergeron, Nanette Olmstead, Robert (Chin) Stiltz and son David (Kelly) Stiltz; and his brothers Gary and Larry Franks. He is also survived by his sisters Barbara Bankhead, Carmen Ybarra and Delores Garcia; his grandchildren Christopher, William, Jason, Serina and Nicholas; one great-grandson, Cade; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, from 10-11 a.m. at Heritage Memory Mortuary, 131 Grove Ave in Prescott, Ariz., with a Celebration of Life service in honor of Charlie on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Heritage Memorial Park in Dewey, AZ.

The family suggests memorials in honor of Charlie be made to the American Cancer Society.
