Letter: Phippen landscape show one not to miss

EDITOR:

There is a treasure to discover in our own backyard! Currently at the Phippen Museum is an exhibit worthy of one of the finest museums in the country anywhere.

They have collected some of the finest paintings by some of the biggest names in the world of professional landscape artists. You don't want to miss this show with the clever name, "The Greatest Earth on Show," which features paintings of some of the greatest sights in the west: the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Mt. Humphreys, Yosemite, Sedona, the Zuni Cliffs, and Rocky Mountains.

If you have not seen this stunning exhibit, take a short drive north on 89 just past the Granite Dells to the Phippen Museum where you will also enjoy sculptures and an interesting gift shop.

Some of the top names represented in this show are nationally and internationally known such as Richard Schmid, Curt Walters, William Scott Jennings, Ray Swanson, Doug Miley, Kathryn Stats, Matt Smith, W. Jason Situ, and Bill Anton. If you love the West, you will be awed by this exhibit of some of the finest Western landscape artists in the country. Some of these images invoke the "WOW' response and will remain with you long after you have left the show.
