Allen (Moody) Bonnaha, 71, of the Middle Verde Yavapai Apache Nation died Jan. 14, 2010. He was born July 9, 1938, in Phoenix, the son of Steven and Florence (Ingle) Bonnaha.
He was a graduate of Clarkdale schools.
He worked for Peabody Coal Company in Black Mesa, Ariz., where he spent 24 years in the Black Mesa Mine and loved his work. He served his country in the Marine Corps.
Mr. Bonnaha's hobbies were hunting, fishing, bareback riding in rodeos and pow-wows. He liked to carve spirit dancers. He loved family gatherings and was always there for his family. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Joanne Bonnaha Anderson.
He leaves his wife of three years, Lynn Bonnaha; son Jody Bonnaha (Tina) of Prescott; daughters Diana Bonnaha, Victoria Bonnaha, Anna Bonnaha of Camp Verde and Michelle Bird of Canada; mother Florence Bonnaha; brothers Hubert Bonnaha (Gloria) of Prescott, Irvin Bonnaha of Paulden and Brent Ingle of Clarkdale; sisters Shirley Bonnaha Coffman (Keith) of Camp Verde, Rhonda Chicharello of Ft. McDowell, Linda Hartnet and Brenda Fenton, both of Camp Verde; 20 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, in the Middle Verde Yavapai Apache Nation Gym.
