The Prescott Chamber Players Society To Perform
The Prescott Chamber Players Society performs a free concert of classical chamber music 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 24, at the Prescott United Methodist Church, 505 W. Gurley St., in Prescott.
"The Prescott Chamber Players Society is a local organization of classical musicians founded in 1997 to further the performance and appreciation of chamber music," said George Friedman, member of the chamber society. "As a form, chamber traces its roots to the 17th century when small groups of string, wind, and keyboard instrument (players) performed in the homes of the aristocracy."
The Prescott chamber is composed of professional and amateur musicians who perform monthly concerts at private homes. Music during the Sunday concert includes works by Schubert, Bruch, Stamitz and Martucci. After the concert, the public can join the players for refreshments and conversation.
