On Saturday, Jan. 16, Little Brothers and Sisters and their "Bigs" will pack the Antelope Lanes bowling alley at 1 p.m. to officially kick-off Bowl for Kids' Sake 2010.

Bowl For Kids' Sake is Yavapai County's largest annual fund-raising activity.

Last year, the event involved more than 15,000 people and raised more than $200,000.

All of the money raised goes directly to matching our communities' most vulnerable boys and girls with Big Brother or Big Sister. It costs $1,000 to make and support one Big/Little match per year.

The event also attracts more Big Brother, Big Sister and Big Family volunteers than any other single source.

Individuals interested in participating in this year's Bowl for Kids' Sake as either team captains or as bowlers can attend the event on Jan. 16 at Antelope Lanes from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. to sign-up or pick up team captain packets.

This year, Bowl for Kids' Sake celebrations will be held Feb. 27 and 28 and March 6 and 7.

For more information, to pledge to a bowler or to become a Big Brother or Big Sister, call Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters at 928-778-5135, or visit
