Mrs. Farmer

Mrs. Farmer

Mrs. Anna Farmer, beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother and friend to many died Feb. 4, 2010. She was born Nov. 2, 1924, in St. Louis, Mo., and lived there most of her life.

In 1985, she and her husband Fred, moved to Florida, which was a life-long dream come true. In October 2006, she moved to Granite Gate Senior Living Community to be close to her daughter. We are extremely grateful for the amazing love and care given to her by their competent staff and residents. Before receiving her into heaven, God blessed her with His presence in the face of countless individuals.

She was a very accomplished secretary in various fields. She was a legal secretary for a season and an administrative assistant for the 7-Up company for a number of years before she retired.

Anna loved to entertain and to be entertained. She loved to travel, to live on the beach, to cook, to work, to play ping-pong, golf and cards. She enjoyed musicals and having fun. Anna loved life! Dancing was her passion - people said that she had music in her soul. She was the jitterbug queen that cleared many a dance floor throughout her years. She was independent, loved to be in charge and stole the hearts of many.

She is preceded in death by Fred Farmer; her mom; dad; and brother. She is survived by her daughter Connie (Lou) Ricks; Connie's father and Anna's previous husband, Paul Koines; stepson John (Betsy) Farmer; stepdaughter Sue (Mark) Davis; four grandchildren, Allison Farmer, Boyd Miles, Patti (James) Prater, Beth (Matt) Shellhart; and five great grandchildren, Caiden Miles, Kayla and McKenna Prater and Aaron and Gracie Shellhart; and many other wonderful relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

Thank you for the care of YRMC Hospice where she had the proud distinction of graduating four times.

In lieu of flowers, please pay your love forward to someone of your choice. Services will be on Valentine's Day in St. Louis, Mo.
