Obituary: Alline L. McClure

Alline L. McClure, 90, passed away Feb. 2, 2010, in Prescott, Ariz. She was born April 10, 1919, in Newport, Ark., to Walter C. and Allie A. (Lane) Heiser. She married Lloyd B. McClure on Feb. 27, 1954, in Pekin, Ill. He died May 14, 1991.

Alline is survived by two daughters, June (Ronald) Hurst of Manito and Allie Jane Dunn of Prescott; three grandchildren, Mark (Cheryl) Avery of Manito, Joy (Ron) Petitt of Pekin, and David Goodwin of Prescott; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and one sister, Meleta Shafer of Prescott Valley.

Alline retired in 1974 from Tazewell County where she was clerk of the court for many years. Previously, she had been a secretary in purchasing at Caterpillar Inc. from 1948 to 1970.

She was a member of the Emblem Club and First Baptist Church, both in Prescott. She was a former member of the Pekin Emblem Club #424, where she was the longtime treasurer. She also was a former member of First Baptist Church in Pekin.

Alline enjoyed bowling, sewing and traveling. Her grandchildren will fondly remember her as a great cook.

Funeral services for Alline will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8, in Illinois at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel, where visitation will be one hour before the funeral. The Rev. James E. Clark of Crossroads Baptist Church in Peoria will officiate. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
