Harvest Bible Chapel invites the public to attend two candlelight Christmas Eve services at 5 and 7 p.m. today. The family services will be at the Harvest worship center, 6711 N. 2nd St., in Prescott Valley, one block south of Highway 69. Because of Christmas falling on Saturday this year, Harvest will not conduct its weekly Saturday night services. A nursery is provided for children through age 3. People are welcome to stay for a cookie reception following each service.

Women of Wisdom, an interdenominational Christian fellowship of Bible studies for women of all ages and backgrounds, is now taking registration for its new session, which begins on Jan. 5, and meets for eight weeks until Feb. 23. WOW meets on Wednesday mornings from 8:15 to 11:15 a.m. and Wednesday evenings from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at American Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1085 Scott Drive, Prescott. Scholarships for class materials are available, and free childcare is always provided.
The program for WOW each Wednesday morning includes coffee time, praise and worship music, prayer, a first-hour Bible teaching and your choice of a small-group Bible study or fun "potpourri" class.
Evening classes are in conjunction with American Lutheran's Soul Café family night. An inexpensive family meal is served beginning at 5 p.m.; everyone is welcome.

Christians in Recovery is a new support group that focuses on abstaining from self-defeating behaviors within a 12-step context. The group, led by Joe Byrne, meets every Friday at 6 p.m. in the Deborah Room of Prescott United Methodist Church (PUMC), 505 W. Gurley St. The goal of the group is to promote personal growth and spiritual enrichment for those who are seeking recovery from addictions or the traumas of their past.
Tough Times is another weekly support group designed for those who are out of work or under-employed. The group meets at 11 a.m. on Mondays in the Upper Room at PUMC. Michael Gerdes and Pastor Carol Mumford are co-leaders for these sessions that review resources and provide guidance for job-seekers.
