Robert Frank Kriz

Robert Frank Kriz, 80, of Prescott, Ariz., passed on at home in Prescott on Aug. 28, 2010. Robert was born May 15, 1930, to Marie Picha Kriz and Frank H. Kriz of Hopkins, Minn.

After graduation from Hopkins High School, he attended St. Thomas College in St. Paul, Minn., for two years and then transferred to the University of Minnesota to earn a B.A. in art. His medium of choice was photography and it remained a passion for his lifetime. He worked as an architectural photographer for several years.

Robert worked for Prudential and for American Hardware Insurance companies in Minneapolis, first as an agent and then as a methods analyst. Bob was as avid outdoorsman enjoying his yearly hunting and photography trip to Montana. In addition, Bob won awards in competition pistol shooting.

In 1980, Bob met and married his wife, Joann Hintikka of Bertha, Minn. They especially enjoyed social gatherings with close friends and traveling during 30 happy years of marriage. On a trip in 1982, they discovered Prescott and bought property. They realized their dream and moved to Prescott in October 1999.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother and father, his brother Ivan Kriz, his aunts Abbie, Bessie, and Justine Picha, and some very dear friends. He is survived by his wife Joann, many in-laws, and other dear friends.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 3, 2010 at Sacred Heart Church. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, at Heritage Memory Mortuary.
