Good food, good music, good times at Cordes brunch
At first, attendees trickled in for the annual Tuesday Club brunch at Cordes Lakes Community Center on Saturday, but as time approached for the big prize drawing, more people arrived.
The food was varied and very good. Many guests commented on the tasty chili rellenos, which complemented eggs, ham and sausage. The fruit bowl appeared to overflow throughout the meal.
Because of the short time available, people submitted few pictures for the photo contest, but plans are in the works to start the contest earlier next year. There will be a Cordes Lakes calendar for 2011 with all pictures taken in Cordes Lakes.
The brunch's main event was the drawing for a Baja cruise. While Robbe Bressler, the CLCA president, held the bowl, Heidi Dahms-Foster, Big Bug News editor, closed her eyes and drew the winning name.
The winners weren't present, but a phone call quickly brought Denise and David Summit to the center to claim their prize.
