Stanley LaRue Stubbs, 68, died July 26, 2010, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center.
Stan was born Nov. 19, 1941, in Mesa, Ariz., to Frank and Lorene Stubbs. He graduated high school in Coolidge, Ariz. In 1960 he married Linda Crook in Wickenburg, Ariz. Together they had five children: Stana, Jacqueline, Daniel, Susan and Amanda.
During his time serving in the United States Navy, Stan was trained as an electrician and chose this as his occupation. Stan retired from Cyprus Bagdad Copper Co. located in Bagdad, Ariz., in 1999. In 2002, Stan and Linda made Skull Valley, Ariz., their home.
Stan enjoyed spending time with his family, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing and nature, and took pride in his yard, expressing that he wanted it to be his "Garden of Eden." Stan had a love of animals of all kinds, but especially enjoyed dogs and horses. Stan was known for his strong faith in the Bible and his hope to live in a paradise here on Earth (Ps. 37:29; Mt. 5:5). He was truly wise and taught many others about the truth of what the Bible really teaches. Stan was loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Stan is survived by his wife, Linda Stubbs; five children, Stana O'Connor, Jacqueline Pierson, Daniel Stubbs, Susan Gray, and Amanda Como; daughter-in-law Sara Stubbs; and sons-in-law Casey O'Connor, Erik Gray and Peter Como. Stan is also survived by 16 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and five siblings.
