Silent Witness offers reward for info in stabbing
PRESCOTT - Yavapai Silent Witness is offering a $1,000 cash reward to a caller whose information leads to the arrest of a man suspected of stabbing a woman as she walked near the parking garage on Feb. 10.
At 9:20 p.m., the man stabbed the woman as she walked in the alley north of Goodwin Street behind Whiskey Row near the parking garage, said Steve Skurja, director of Yavapai Silent Witness.
"The suspect had just walked past the victim. The victim thought he was going toward a restaurant and she said it was closed," said Lt. Andy Reinhardt, spokesman for the Prescott Police Department. "He followed her as she continued walking toward the parking garage."
The suspect did not say anything to the victim, but stabbed her once with a knife when she turned around to see if he had followed her, Reinhardt said.
Then the suspect ran from the area, Skurja said.
The suspect is a man in his 30s who is about 5-foot-6 and weighs about 200 pounds, Skurja said. He wore a white windbreaker jacket with possibly a blue shirt and blue jeans and a cap, Skurja said.
Police captured the photo of the suspect from video, Reinhardt said.
Paramedics took the victim to Yavapai Regional Medical Center for treatment, then a helicopter flew her to Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix for further treatment.
Anyone with information can call Silent Witness at (800) 932-3232 or text your message to Busted 411247. Remember that you never have to give your name.
