I was both surprised and saddened to note that the flag of the Ernest Love Post 6 of the American Legion was not lowered this past weekend.
Senator Edward Kennedy served his country for almost 50 years, two of them in the U.S. Army. I am curious about who decided so conspicuously not to honor him.
My brother proudly served as Adjutant of the American Legion Post in his community for many years. In small towns in South Dakota, the Legion is a non-partisan organization, which honors all veterans. Apparently not so here.
