Donald Bruce Fancher died Sept. 5, 2009, at the Granite View Adult Care Home, Prescott, Ariz. Born Sept. 9, 1933, in Kansas City, Mo., Donald worked as an aerospace engineer for NASA. He was a member of the American Legion, Society of Manufacturing Engineers, and UAEC, and proudly served in the U.S. Army, Korean War 82nd Airborne Division. Donald enjoyed gardening and sports - especially the Diamondbacks and the Arizona Cardinals. He was most proud of his work on NASA's skylab and space shuttle.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Joyce; daughters Denise Moore of Fullerton, Calif., and Janan Fancher of Lakewood, Calif.; son Neil (Tammy) Fancher of Aurora, Colo.; and stepdaughter Deborah Hart of Prescott. Survivors also include his brother William (Sandra) Connell of Irving, Texas; grandchildren Christina, Sean, Nicholas, Amber, Blaine; step-grandchildren Michael and Kelli; and great-grandchildren Kylie and Adrianna. Donald was preceded in death by his stepson, Philip Hart, and granddaughter Erica.
Inurnment with military honors will be at the Prescott National Cemetery, Prescott.
In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in loving memory of Donald be made to the American Legion Post #6, 202 S. Pleasant St., Prescott, AZ 86303.
Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, Prescott, assisted the family with arrangements.
