Letter: Long-time Semlich friend can vouch for his honesty
I would like to rebut Casey Durnil's letter to the editor, Sept. 16, 2009 in the Chino Valley Review. Not knowing if Casey is male or female, teeny-bopper, adult or taxpayer (15 APR federal, state income tax), I will emphatically inform you that Mr. Semlich is not a disgrace, fear and hate monger, and amazingly does not deal in lies. I have known him for 13 years.
Your comment "typical Republican ploy to cause fear and divide our nation...all based on lies!" - number one, Charlie does not lie; number two, he likes to study candidates, issues, propositions before we vote. We try to be wise voters.
Your disparaging, nasty words are common fodder right out of the Democrat National Committee handbook. I'm guessing you're young because it appears you don't have a clue. In two words, massive debt, the U.S. is broke, big time. Dems have controlled both houses of Congress for nearly three years. Obama was in the Senate two of those three years and he now controls a third of the federal government and is trying to run roughshod over Congress. Even some of the Dems are starting to waver. They have children and grandchildren and hopefully enough of them will see the light intently shining on uncontrollable debt.
Honor Charlie for his diligence, hours of work and military service during the Korean War.
Casey, read George Orwell's book, "1984." I read it back in the '60s and concluded he nailed it. Socialism! On your computer, pull up HERITAGE.org, get serious and broaden your view. I am not a Republican.
