PRESCOTT VALLEY - A minor accident involving a pickup, sport-utility vehicle and passenger car tied up traffic Monday evening for at least a mile on Highway 89A, Sgt. Brandon Bonney of the Prescott Valley Police Department said.
The accident occurred at about 5 p.m. at the highway near the Viewpoint Drive exit, he said. He added an ambulance took one of the drivers to Yavapai Regional Medical Center East Campus, where he received treatment for minor injuries.
The backup of vehicles in turn triggered another accident where a motorcycle driver struck a stopped vehicle in the rear, Bonney said. The motorcyclist pulled into a nearby market, Bonney said.
His wife later arrived at the scene and took him to the hospital after he determined he had suffered an injury, Bonney said.
"The backup tied up traffic for awhile," Bonney said, adding police are continuing their investigation.
