Carole Erickson

Carole Erickson passed away on Sept. 30, 2009. Carole was born in Chicago, Ill., to Charles and Dorothy Kuecker on Jan. 10, 1937.

She attended public schools in the Chicago area, moving to Hebron, Ill., in 1957 when she married William Stevens. They made their home there on their farm until 1970 when they moved to Prescott, Ariz., in the Williamson Valley area.

In 1972, the family moved to Contreas Ranch in Skull Valley and later to Rancho Moana. Carole worked at Allan's Flowers and at Granite Mountain Junior High in the cafeteria. She loved the students who worked in the cafeteria with her. In 1979, she began working for the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office in the county jail. She was very proud of her job. Carole retired after 18 years.

Carole was involved with Sweet Adelines, Questers, Sharlot Hall Museum and Yavapai County Cowbells. In 1983 Carole married Milton Erickson and lived in Paulden until her passing.

Carole and Milt enjoyed their RV, making several trips to the midwest, Washington State and Bishop, Calif., to Mule Days. Carole and Milt more recently enjoyed local auctions and she was never one to pass up a yard sale. She loved her animals and plants, and took great pride in decorating their home with Western art and antiques. Carole was an amazing cook and loved to share meals with friends and family. You couldn't visit her home without being fed well.

Carole was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Charles Kuecker, and her former husband, William Stevens. She is survived by her husband Milton Erickson of Paulden; daughters Dorothy (Robert) Elsner of Mt. Vernon, Wash., and Nancy (Ray) Robl of Paulden; stepson Daren (Jolene) Erickson of Yucca Valley, Calif.; her grandchildren, Michele and Marisa Elsner, Amy and Shayna Robl, and Devon, Anthony and Rebecca Erickson; sisters Jean Babrick of Defiance, Mo., and Nancy Mendrala of Atlanta, Ga.; and brother Chuck (Mari) Kuecker of Beloit, Wis.; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, at the Oriental Express on E. Perkinsville Road in Chino Valley, Ariz. Please bring a potluck offering and your favorite memory to share with friends and family.
