Military news: Capt. Brandon J. Lingle
Capt. Brandon J. Lingle has been selected for promotion to the rank of major in the U.S. Air Force.
Additionally, he was named the 2008 Outstanding Academy Educator, Department of the English and Fine Arts; the Humanities Division Company Grade Officer of the Year. He also led cadets on Olmsted cultural immersion trip to East Africa, which included a successful summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. The major (select) led four cadets on an Indonesian Air Force Academy exchange program.
Lingle is an instructor assigned to the Department of English, Dean of the Faculty at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo. The major (select) has served in the military for 13 years.
He is the son of Randy and Patricia Lingle of Prescott Valley, Ariz., and husband of Jennifer Lingle.
The officer graduated in 1995 from Cabrillo High School, Lompoc, Calif. and received a bachelor's degree in 2000 from the U.S. Air Force Academy. He earned a master's degree in 2007 from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
